Rimmel Apocalips in Apocaliptic, Boots, £5.99, currently on 3 for 2

On Friday, I was the ultimate blogger cliche. But this was one launch I couldn't resist any longer! Rimmel have just launched Apocalips - a liquid lipstick with some seriously intense colours. After a lot of indecisions, I picked up Apocaliptic which is a bright fuchsia red and I love the colour - it'll be fantastic for summer!

I wore Apocaliptic out shopping on Saturday. The first thing I noticed was how easily they applied, straight from the applicator. I used a lip brush to neaten the edges but I don't think that'd be necessary with a less virbant shade. So, on it went at 9am. I fell asleep in the car waiting for my Dad (standard behaviour) and it lasted throughout - at 11:30am it was still going strong. Colour-wise that was - certainly not comfort-wise. I found this to be increddddibly uncomfortable to wear. At first it seemed like any other lippy, but as the day went on, the drier my lips became with what felt like a film over them. Yuck.

We went for lunch at 2pm and although the colour had stayed in place, my lips felt so revolting I just had to take it off which was a shame (although it did leave me with suitably stained lips which looked quite nice!).

Overall, I was impressed with the shades and vibrancy of the colours but disappointed in the formula. I won't be binning it though as I know it'll be great for a nightout where you needn't wear it as long!

Have you tried the Apocalips? Let me know how you got on with them!

  1. I picked up this colour and Galaxy at the weekend and was super impressed with them! Wore mine out on Saturday night, and it stayed on all night with drinking etc. Didn't find it too drying.

  3. Ah it's a shame you didn't like how it felt, I didn't find that at all although I'm always putting lipbalm on so maybe that's why. Apocaliptic is easily my favourite shade out of the ones I've tried so far, in fact it's my newest favourite lip colour full stop!
